anyone know a good electrician who does work in the billerica area. i've got a screwed up system that needs evaluation. i've got 20 amp breakers running on 15 amp outlets, a couple breakers that are tied in to 2-3 rooms. just recently i used an electric heater in one room and everything on the circuit shut off, but the breaker never tripped in the basement. plugged a tester in and it read hot/grd. reverse???

i'm not comfortable with electric so need someone that knows what they're doing, and affordable.

Scott,
Call the electrical inspector and ask for three names of local guys he is comfortable with... If that office doesn't have a phone number listed, call the building inspectors office and ask to be connected. Often these guys don't want to recommend anyone for fear of playing favorites, which is why you should ask for a couple of names. Check the local yellow pages so you are familiar with some names he may give you.

A 20 amp breaker will not trip if you have 15 amp receps, and 14/2 wire, you blow something open, or cause a short or fire if you over load the circuit.
