i know that this will be a hard pill to swallow
for ALL the Vick synpathisizers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but is there really
anymore debate?? as i've said all along, as Comeback Player of the Year, VICK WINS, hands down!!!

MVP goes to Brady, imho, and it's not home cooking just
REAL recoginizing REALS!! and in that same vein~~~~

i would like to acknowledge that Michael Vick is the most electrifying QB of the modern era, he never ceases to dazzle with his athleticism and ability to confound defenses. he has improved as a QB since his 1.0 version, and it has made him a better passer. i love to watch him play, yet there is still MUCH he has to learn about playing QB in the NFL.

last second heroics are SEXY, but won't win ya Lombardi's if your turnovers are the reason for the score deficit, imho. the elite playoff teams will capitalize on your mishandlings and make ya pay with an early exit from the post season,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,besides, the Saints and the Falcons are on a different level~~ completely. the Phleagles have something to build upon for next year, i just hope that Vick's running around doesn't get him too banged up to play a whole year,,,,,,,,,

No doubt about it now after the stinker put up by the birds Tuesday night...

But last week? Neck and neck. One hand you have Brady... Mistake free, accurate, efficient. Wins games- that's all you can ask. On the other there's Vick- a little less accurate, but with 8 scores on the ground, and ~600 yds rushing, plus a cannon for an arm. Electrifying player, as you put it. And only 5 picks to Brady's 4. NFL is about entertainment- That's why I thought Vick was going to at least be close to Brady in the voting. But now it's moot... Brady has the clear edge.

And c'mon Jess, get a new point!! :rotf2: You commented on the turnover thing last week when it hadn't even happened, and now it's only happened once on the season (winfield fumble rec for score). Vick's few turnovers have not been responsible for the deficits the eagles have had this year... I blame undisciplined defense mainly, with a particular loathing of whoever is playing opposite Asante (RCB). Now that will come back and bite 'em in the playoffs...

If they play like they did Tuesday they won't make it out of the first round. As it stands now, I think they host the Pack... Tough game. I'm not as high on the Falcons as some people are- We smoked them, and their record is inflated by playing the NFC west. But they are a different team at home, that's for sure, especially if they make it to the CG. The road to facing Baltimore in the SB is much tougher for the birds now... But like MikeP can attest to, a team just has to get hot at the right time to go all the way. Just look at TDF in the fantasy football league!! 8th seed in the champ game!

This does not even merit conversation even if Vick had won the other night! Nevermind the fact that Vick will always have his detractors......Brady plays several levels higher than Vick! Its a no brainer! Brady be....MVP!

Kevin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,love ya like a brother m'man, but Vick
is not even 1/2 the QB Brady is.

right now he has 6 INT's to Brady's 4 and after Sunday it will likely be 8, or twice as many.

Fumbles,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Brady 03, Vick 10
Passing TD's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Brady 34, Vick 21
Passer Ratng,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Brady 109.8(#1), Vick 100.2(#4)
Passer Pct,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Brady 66.0, Vick 62.6

and Brady has played 3 more games than Vick. generally speaking,
more games = lower stats from a percentages for success view and would prolly have Vick closer to 10 INT's for the year at his current rate,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

sorry to hammer the point, but the point IS valid
as it applies, in general, to the PLAYOFFS~~~~

sadly, for Vick, his turnovers have let him slide this year
because they have been against teams WORSE than his team.

Dallas, NYG, et al,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, none of those teams will even be there, BRO!!

he still needs some work, perhaps next year,,,,,,,,,,,
that's if his legs don't cost him to miss more games due to getting his bell ruung! that is the other part of the QB equation and the key to successful, Championship winning play! staying upright and being mobile WITHIN the pocket so your receivers can do their thang!! his cannon should do more work than his speed, imho!

this next game is no gimme for ya'll either~~~

I hear ya on the fumbles... but you're not accounting for 9 tds on the ground and 700 rushing yards. Comp % and rating are comparable.

I never said that he was Brady's equal- but half the qb is a little strong. Half the passer yes, but Vick is a different beast than Brady.

That whole team better get a shot in the butt if they want to go anywhere in the playoffs! We're locked into the #3 seed now so I doubt the starters will play on Sunday, especially with the injuries. If they had won out they could have challenged chi for the #2 seed and a bye... all moot now :(

The only way I see Vick winning MVP is if he happens to beat the Pats in the Superbowl.
Really happy to see Vick straighten his life out and have a great season.

MVP has nothing to do w/ the post season....all about regular season

Awards voting is not only based on regular season performance but is completed prior to the post season beginning.

YUUUUP!

Great for him that he was able to put together such an excellent season in his first year back!! it was a thrill to watch!! hope that he keeps his nose clean from here on out,,,,,,,,,he seems to be a changed man, so far.

Vick missed most of 4 games early in the season, and really didn't hit his stride until November 7 against the Colts.

You can't win MVP on half a season, IMO. The Eagles won 2 out of 3 games, including a big win over the Falcons, with Kolb starting at QB.

EXACTLY, MikeP!!
:agree: :agree: :agree:

his numbers would be farrr WORSE than Brady's,
had he played the same amount of games as #12.

QB is NOT about rush yardage either, m'man Kevin!
QB IS about game management and taking care of the football when you possess it.
this is a Passer's League, those are the ONLY ##'s that count and the ones that should be rewarded.

what he does, can NO BODY ELSE do like, he just does it.
FUUUUN to watch, but it won't win ya Champeenships~~~

If Brady doesn't win MVP than there is something very very wrong. It takes alot for me to say that as I hate the Pats but playing it that level consistently all year with the loss of Moss says alot about him. MVP in every way.

BB should also win coach of the year but it may go to Todd Haley but BB deserves it.
