Providence Boat Show (http://www.providenceboatshow.com/pbsnew/index.php)

What do you think about the venue this year? For me its not so much the boats but to checkout other vendors and get away from the white stuff.

If you are in the market for a leftover second-tier-brand barebones CC with a zuki thru a local dealer at a decent price while you lick a Dels lemon ice... this is the place to look! Beyond that, it is not worth the price of admission. They need more diversity in boats and equipment. Sad situation for a state called the "ocean state" there are few ocean going boats at that show.

That show should be free. They need to get people in the doors. Yeah, I need some more rescue tape and some of that industrial strength super glue from the mad Russian, but I shouldn't have to pay to park then again at the door just to get in to spend more money.:wall:

Further, they don't have enough factory reps from MAJOR manufacturers of boat stuff esp electronics. It is more of a local show with the local shop pushing a sale. He often is a part time guy who does not know anymore than you do about the product.

I plan to go to both the Miami and Boston shows this year. Even if you are not in the market to buy a new boat it is still exciting to see the latest and greatest stuff. Also these shows have the factory guru's on site. They have demos of safety stuff (inflating life rafts, set up of real sea anchors, epribs, bow thrusters, generators, etc...and good demos of the latest electronics.) Plus they often have hot babes walking around as well.:)....Oh and last year between me and my wife I was able to get 6 good boating and fishing magazines for FREE for an entire year just by signing up at the door. I dropped all my subscriptions and get the freebies now....

BTW flights to FL are dirt cheap now as well...

The Miami show is something every boater should go to once in their life. As for Rhode Island's boat show it sucks.

Indeed. Not going this year. Same dealers. Same additudes and same crap every year. $10 to get in. $10 to park. $4 for a coffee. $25 to look at a bunch of over prices junk.
