So last week I am driving behind a car and notice something dropping from the car......and then it starts moving??? One....then another.....then another??? There were mice dropping from underneath the car onto the road???? Curious is this common??? Had they simply crawled up under the car seeking a warm place???? I had never seen this before and found it quite strange???

was an auto mechanic alot of years ago.car came in to get headlite replaced.took out seal beam and had a mouse staring at me.also used to see alot of mice nests on intake manifolds.wierdest one was on old crysler cat big v8 that wouln'nt run over 20 mph.took off big air cleaner checked fuel filter, carb, electronics.ran car and had alot of power.put back air cleaner housing ran car down street no power.this went on some more checks and road tests.about 3rd time putting on air cleaner i see furry thing wedged in air cleaner housing.it was a rat, went in steel opening on housing and got wedged between v shaped steel in housing and died.removed and car was like a rocket.

My brother who lives in VT parked his old volvo wagon in a barn and frequently would have to clean mouse nests out from on top of the engine... they climb up to enjoy the warmth... car engines stay warm for hours ... plenty of thermal mass in a v6/V8 block.... he went canoe camping/fishing in the Adirondacks once and left some fresh ginger in his car.... the mouse crawled into the car and ate ALL of the ginger..... hell the Vt mouse must have had a party with the NYS mice that was in the car in the next parking place....
more common than you would think....

had mouse nests in all 3 of our cars this year and last. PIA. They have been in the air cleaners and even have made it into the car and living in the glove box in 2 of my vehicles. I have traps in my truck as i don't drive it too often and have taken 2 by trap. I have 3 outdoor cats too. I hate the little buggers

Nearly every car that I work on has signs of mice. Under the hood blanket, in the air cleaner, under the back seat. all over the place.
