Too Friekin Cold To Fish Night - March 5th

What is it? S-B's annual night out - Kinda like Festivus for fisherpeeps where amazing feats or strength, occasionally encouraged by beer are combined with one of the best raffle tables ever to help support S-B to keep the lights on.

Where? VFW Hall, Middle St Fairhaven, MA. - Conventiently located across the street from the Holiday Inn.

JohnR, I suggest that the raffle winners be organized like the Hab's raffle where the item is randomly selected prior to calling the number.
This will acknowledge the donor and sponsor for their generous contribution thereby promoting their company. Also it will give better odds of the nicer prizes for everyone.

Even if it takes a longer time say 20% that is only 12 minutes. The benefits outweigh the additional time after all if it wasn't for the donors it would not be possible. Something to think about anyway.

Can we please do name tags this year?
I know it is kinda corny, but since i suffer from C.R.S, it would be a lot easier and nicer to be able to talk to people and know who they are, both real and screen names........especially if I have too much blood in the alcohol stream.......
I am determined to defend my title against the treadmill..............

Always a good time. IMO far better than any show or club meeting I have ever attended.

I agree 100% on the name tag thing. Good for when you meet new people , peoples wives etc but also good for guys you may hove known well but haven't seen in a few year. Over time people get gray hair or beer guts , etc. :) Good to be able to have that little clue from the name tag.

Last year I made the Braised beef. I swear I made a ton and yet it all went almost immediately. I was surprised to be honest as it needed to be brought in using two big foil pans.

This year I may do beef again but maybe I'll feel ambitious and do something different. One of my favorites is Hot Turkey delight. Thats Roasted Turkey cut into chunks then simmered in its natural gravey. So moist and tasty. great for sandwiches or over rice or potatoes. I'll also admit that what's available at a reasonable price also has a hand in what I select. If Turkey is $3.29 a pound that week , Maybe I don't get it.

I'll get a food thread going in another couple of weeks. Messy Matty will be there with Mikey, paliaso and I this year, as well.

Anybody think of getting a block of rooms?

If anyone needs a designated driver in the Pembroke/ South Shore area let me know. I will provide transportation safely to and from the event.

That way luck decides who gets to pick first and get the better prize second third etc. It also creates the possibility that what I think is the best available prize is not what someone else may think. I go up and grab what I want or need most , that may still leave what someone else wanted or needed most on the table. I think the way we do it now is the best way for the people buying tickets.
