Cabo 40PTS needs service. Paint has just bubbled up and crumbled off the stem leading to the body. Would like to see them replace that on their nickel seeing how it has fallen apart... Other minor stuff, like replace line roller. Should I send it to Bucko's or back to Tulsa? Who should I call for a contact at Bucko's?

Check with Quantum first before sending it to Bucko's. If they stand behind their products, they might fix it for free. I used to have my reels serviced at Bucko's, but had a bad experience with a Penn they fixed/didn't fix last year and probably won't go back in the future.

x2 - I've sent my Quantum to Bucko's, and it took over a month each time to get it fixed. Didn't stock the parts for my particular reel. The reason it's been twice is because the first time it wasn't fixed properly.

Nice guys there and I'm sure they do a healthy business, but that's my personal experience...

If you do go to Bucko's, his name is Mike and he owns the place. I've had both good and bad experiences with them. Only one reel tech. puts a huge work load on one person, therefore taking forever to get stuff back.

Ross,

I would say you got a good deal from
Quantum. The Surfcaster.com catalog
lists Cabo 40PTS for $179.95. Could you
handle some of my reels problems for
me. You would have my eternal thanks.

That is how they generally deal with there issues i've had it happen a few times with freshwater reels.

Called them today. Offering a new reel, not a rebuilt. Asked for my old spool. He said he would see what he could do....

New reel arrived Saturday. Old spool arrived today, no charge for that. So for $74.95 I have new reel with extra spool. Works for me....
