Bondo is what I use to repair knicks and scratches, but one of the guys I work with does furniture building and repair and he suggested I use a polyester spot putty because
the material is extremely fine compared to the grittier bondo.
What do you guys use?

Minwax Wood Filler Frank! I swear by it! Dries fast, sands easy and smooth, does not shrink AT ALL in the water.....never an issue with it Frank!:uhuh:

MH Ready Patch. Black can with orange lettering. Top painters use it as do a lot of finish carpenters. smooth stuff.

I've been using the same stuff as bigfish after he recommended it and I ran out of two part wood epoxy.
The stuff sands great, cheap and readily available.

i never thought bondo was Gritty....
you can make a super hot red batch that dries
really fast.... but the min wax is probably better
for plugs as bondo is quite porous...

I use the MinWax as well, but have Bondo on hand as well. Sometimes I use Bondo in a pinch.

Save those plugs for me, I prefer the scratch and dent plugs! They catch more fish and cast farther....
