Thanks Redsoxticket for the connectivity advice. Pushed in the USB, and although it did appear to be in far enough, thats what she said, it obviously wasn't. Printer has worked each time reaffirming what you said might be the problem and was. She said thanks , by the way.

did you need a piezoelectric lubricant?

thats what they teach you in internet technology class
to look for the simplest answer first....
