View Full Version : TFCTFN Food Thread
RickBomba 02-04-2011, 07:39 PM Hi Guys and Girls,
With T-Minus 4 weeks to go March 5th, I thought I would start the food thread. I'll be bringing 1 large hotel pan of sausage, peppers and onions. For those of you who have never been, Messy Matty, Rappin Mikey and I will warm up and present or use whatever supplies you would like to donate. I also bring about 15 chafing dishes, sterno, etc to keep everything nice and warm, once cooked. I've got plates and utensils for us all, as well.
The hall has a pretty limited warming capacity (one stove, four burners and a flattop). If you can bring something that is already cooked and needs to be warmed up, that would be great. Please also remember to bring a utensil (spoon or ladle) to serve, and we'll make sure to wash it for you, once done.
We'll be looking for the following types of stuff:
Appetizer/Finger Foods
Salad/Potato or Pasta Salad, etc.
Hot Dishes
Desserts
Napkins
Sodas/Waters
Cups
I think that the turnout will be pretty good this year, and I'm guessing that the food will be pretty good, as well. We like to think that what gets donated probably worth the price of admission, alone.
So, if you'd like to contribute, please sign up here.
John, can you make this thread sticky?
Thanks,
Rick Bomba, Rappin Mikey, and Messy Matty

Try this. I dropped 22 pounds in 7 weeks having Special K with Skim milk for breakfast, Progresso Light soup for lunch (160 calories in a whole can) and a portion controlled dinner. No bread. Fresh Fruit cup for dessert (melon, pineapple and sometime berries) and rice cakes or popcorn for a snack.
Not fun but it works. I weigh myself every Tuesday morning before I have anything. Goal is 50 pounds by Memorial Day. Trying to get to 180.
RickBomba 03-02-2011, 06:40 AM Anybody else for last minute volunteers. We're still looking for napkins, cups, soda, more water, and more rolls...

JackK 03-02-2011, 08:29 PM Could someone bring a big bowl for me to put the ceviche in? I have very little stuff in the way of serving bowls, just massive stainless steel ones and Tupperware. Presentation is everything :rotf2:

RickBomba 03-03-2011, 06:39 AM rick let me know what kindas of soda's we will need and i will be more the happy to pick up a bunch,
I think nothing crazy...some cola, diet cola, lemon-lime and ginger ale usually do the trick.
As everybody is old...maybe 40% diet, 40% cola, 10% ginger, 10% lemon lime.
Thanks,
Rick
Got Stripers 03-03-2011, 07:58 AM Is the soda now covered, what else do you need, chips-cookies, paper plates? I can bring a large cooler.

iamskippy 03-03-2011, 12:42 PM stupid question but is there a bar at this place or it is byob, just a question with all the water and stuff
Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device
redcrbbr 03-03-2011, 01:13 PM rick, if need be I can swing by the dollar store and pick up some serving utensils.
Saltheart 03-03-2011, 02:19 PM There is a bar. Its very resonable prices too. many don't drink at all , some have 1 or 2 then switch to water or soda for the pre ride home sobering , etc. I don't think there is ever even 1 extra bottle of water left over!
Rob Rockcrawler 03-03-2011, 04:56 PM Wow, 100 people, i had no idea, looks like i will be getting more cups and napkins.
