I’d like to nominate Numbskull.
He’s very personable and approachable, always lends constructive input to striped-bass.com discussions, offers helpful advice to anyone whether it be about fishing techniques, plug making, gear improvements. As a responsible angler he’s always involved in fisheries management issues. George and other members like him are one of the main reasons I visit this site.
Can someone please second this nomination.
DZ

Even though Bob didn't spend a whole lot of time on this board it would be nice to recognize as a site the friend he was to many of us and to fishing in general.

WESTPORTMAFIA 02-10-2011, 05:36 PM Tony O
Tony has taken about 7 days off of fishing since last spring. And he always puts up #'s for the cup. He's nothing to look at and you usually need to pack a couple of tampoons when you go out with him. But he's got my vote. :)
Back Beach 02-10-2011, 06:20 PM I would have said Numbskull too, but he cost me too much money:laugha:
As for another guy, I can't say we know each other well, but I know a few things about this guy:
Great angler, person, and hero by all accounts=New Jack gets my nomination.
I feel like the award should embody and recognize the entire person, not just the numbers and sizes of fish caught.
Slipknot 02-10-2011, 06:22 PM Bob, mike and Dan are my votes

wader-dad 02-10-2011, 08:14 PM I nominate Toby Lapinski
Raider Ronnie 02-10-2011, 08:26 PM This looks like a popularity contest !
How many 50s did Cowhunter get this year and if I'm not mistaken a 60 and no one mentions him ?
Mike P 02-10-2011, 08:46 PM I'll second New Jack.
BigFish 02-10-2011, 08:52 PM I will 3rd Greg! Not only are we looking for a great fisherman but a standout human being and a credit to our fishing community!:uhuh:

WESTPORTMAFIA 02-10-2011, 09:03 PM Niko
A guy who catches TON'S of fish without bragging, and loves every minute of it. He doesn't take much time off either. Niko always has something planned and always post's on S-B to see if anyone wants to join him. Not too many guy's who catch a TON of fish will post on the board and ask " Does anyone want to come along?" Search his posts and you will see... The funny thing is he catches lots of all kinds and eats none. He does it for the fun. I love it!!!!!!!!! Thanks Matt for bringing him up as it's well deserved.

Sea Dangles 02-10-2011, 10:08 PM I can't believe how much fishing ProfessorM does but my nomination goes to Piemma.I read his posts over the years and I am dumbfounded by his commitment to the sport. He drives a great distance regardless of the destination and has an infectious enthusiasm for striped bass fishing. He has been there and done that and remains insatiable.Put his knowledge of the sport in a bottle and it would sell.
Sea Dangles 02-10-2011, 10:13 PM Clammer also seems worthy. He seems to catch bass year round.Wish I knew what he knows.
justplugit 02-10-2011, 10:23 PM 2nd Clammer, fishes year round and is one of the most generous
guys i know.
zimmy 02-10-2011, 10:59 PM PaulS
Piscator 02-11-2011, 01:17 AM Niko.............because he will fish:
for anything
at anytime
at anyplace
with anyone
He uses all kinds of different techniques and he is consistently good at all of them. He is not a one dimensional fisherman......

Then if you feel he should be in, nominate him.
tlapinski 02-11-2011, 07:39 AM Krispy gets my vote. :devil2:
SeaWolf 02-11-2011, 09:24 AM the krispy vote is tempting..
voting for a guy that is a great fish catcher is easy. there are many guys worthy of voting for just by being a genuine, nice guy, fun to talk to, and helpfulness to others when fishing on the boards. i always look for a guy that is involved in the fishery somehow and mainly the political area. it is usually a thankless job with a lot of time devotion, dealing with strong aposing viewpoints and people at times.
my vote, basic patrick. thanks for all you do for the striped bass and access.
Fisherwoman 02-11-2011, 10:17 AM There are a lot of great guys & Gals on this site. I vote for RoyL
He is one of the most passionate go getters out there for any species anytime and that to me is dedication. Not a bragger, just loves to share. and puts a ton of time in with the inner city kids we take out for free every season so they can get to fish for a day.
The fishing academy with John Hoffman and RoyL i think is one of the most important things we have going on for the future of our fisheries and for our children!!!!
scottw 02-11-2011, 10:22 AM George Numbskull as well, love his versatile contributions on many subjects, appreciate his skills, knowleged and approach to the sport and the SB site....I think he put a few nice fish on the rocks last year too!
RIROCKHOUND 02-11-2011, 10:25 AM I can't believe how much fishing ProfessorM does but my nomination goes to Piemma.I read his posts over the years and I am dumbfounded by his commitment to the sport. He drives a great distance regardless of the destination and has an infectious enthusiasm for striped bass fishing. He has been there and done that and remains insatiable.Put his knowledge of the sport in a bottle and it would sell.
As his partner when Paul chooses to surf fish Rhody, I'll second the nomination him when he finally retires.... :smash:
PaulS 02-11-2011, 10:59 AM Basic Patrick for all he does to protect the fish we love.
ProfessorM 02-11-2011, 12:43 PM Peter O'Neil

Gave my notice today. March 31 is the last day. Going to do 2 days a week as a sub-contractor.
Thanks Chris and Bryan for the vote of confidence.
BasicPatrick 02-11-2011, 02:48 PM Roy, Mike,Tony, Bob...We got a good slate

JFigliuolo 02-16-2011, 12:32 PM Gave my notice today. March 31 is the last day. Going to do 2 days a week as a sub-contractor.
Thanks Chris and Bryan for the vote of confidence.
Isn't this like the ninth time????
Soaker 02-16-2011, 12:53 PM I don't post much here but DZ is well deserving. He's a tireless advocate of shoreline access and striper conservation. He also teaches us his skills through seminars and magazine articles. You wont see him in the striper cup or posting new photos online but he catches his fair share of monsters each year too. He just prefers to release them.
Tagger 02-16-2011, 03:57 PM I'd Vote Numbskull or DZ ... both conservation minded ,, both share a ton . Both highly skilled in putting life into a hunk of wood . Probably give the edge to Numby for his skill in making plugs, bags , rods., Numby is equally good as a boat fisherman as surf ..but seems to prefer surf fishing ..
TO. put up impressive numbers and poundage without going for a swim...
striprman 02-16-2011, 05:22 PM I don't have to concern myself with catch and release, ethics, spot burning, travel time and all the other things that go with chasing and catching bass. For 35 years I chased bass every chance I had. The old lady didn't mind, if I was happy, so was she. Well. I gave it a rest last year. I did take my 4 year old grandson to D. W. Fields park in Brockton, kibbie fishing, a couple times. That was so much fun for me. Yes, I did get as license and registered. Thats something I should also do, soon.
Adam_777 02-16-2011, 06:03 PM I nominate Clammer.
He catches in the winter in the off season. How many of the other nominees can claim that.
TO puts up great numbers & not just this year but for the last few years.
He gets my vote, and Im all set to fish with him this year I stole a box of tampons from my wife,:rotf2:
