Does anyone know if Remington's Gun Club Grade Shot is steel. The range where I shoot allows steel only.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sweetwater 02-11-2011, 10:18 AM Just heard back from Remington....those loads are lead. :( american spirit 02-16-2011, 01:45 PM the gun club was great and cheap. then my club changed to steel shot only. i'm mean, the damage is already done. and the rifle ranges don't have these restrictions. :wall: Sweetwater 02-16-2011, 01:51 PM If you have an older shotgun w/o removable chokes, the steel shot will groove out the barrel. If you have removable chokes, make sure they're rated "SP" (Steel Proof). The reason the lead restriction doesn't apply to rifles and pistols is due to the size (and amount) of lead per cartridge. Shotgun shells contain shot that is just the size that birds like to gather up for their gizzards (not good). There are still a lot of places around that will allow lead shot though. You and Dan should just start packing shells yourselves. You're gonna need stuff to keep yourself busy next winter. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
