If you aren't partnered up and bumper to bumper, you aren't going anywhere but backwards.... I don't like it. Might as well as be team racing or pairs ice skating....

Sound better than the long draft lines ups but maybe those still happen. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device basswipe 02-20-2011, 06:13 PM When a young 20yr old named Trevor Bayne wins the 500.....I'M ALL FOR IT!!!!!!!!! WHAT A RACE AND THEN SOME!!!!!!!!! keeperreaper 02-21-2011, 08:39 AM I thought the race was exciting. Congrats to the rookie. Bronko 02-21-2011, 09:47 AM Great race. Awesome for the rookie. Bet David Ragan had a tough night sleeping. JohnR 02-21-2011, 11:41 AM Caught parts of it and the bumper to bumper bump/draft added more dimension and interest for me. PRBuzz 02-21-2011, 12:11 PM Interesting new concept, fluidity/strategy of team mates interesting, green/white/checker still the same...only need to watch the last 10 laps. JohnnyD 02-21-2011, 02:14 PM Aside from watching the wrecks on SportCenter the next day, I don't get the allure of Nascar. It's obviously a big deal when 100k people show up to the track, but I just don't get it. But, people say the same to me when I'm watching golf. outnumbered 02-21-2011, 07:23 PM I think it was different and a great way to add something to a sport that was getting boring. The restricted intakes limiting cooling area to 50 sq inches, ( not the restrictor plates) on the front grill along with the pressure relief lines that NASCAR officials added during the week helped eliminate a drivers ability to push forever you still had to come out of it or the pusher was going to throw coolant out and thus overheat. Nice coverage by FOX with the heat pictures showing what was actually happening with the engines. striperman36 02-21-2011, 07:27 PM Aside from watching the wrecks on SportCenter the next day, I don't get the allure of Nascar. And that moron that yells go Junior everytime he goes by. I'll be interested once they get to Bristol, until then IDC. The Dad Fisherman 02-22-2011, 06:30 AM What's a Nascar??? rphud 02-22-2011, 07:59 AM Seems to me the more they do to tighten things up and force the bump drafting the more crashes with more cars involved there are. You would think they, as an organization, would be against that for safety reasons. It was nice the see the Woods Bros. white and maroon 21 in front at Daytona again. Am I dating myself back to the days of unrestricted big blocks?!?!?!?!? striperman36 02-22-2011, 08:03 AM wait till next year when the put Fuel Injection as a requirement, still apparently with restrictors at the big southern tracks JackK 02-22-2011, 10:45 AM What's a Nascar??? I hear some people even have nascar fantasy leagues!! Nebe 02-22-2011, 10:47 AM NASCAR is Latin for low intelligence. I've heard that too....:jump1: rphud 02-22-2011, 12:11 PM Wouldn't that be NASCARUS OR NASCARAS OR NASCAROS? Nice.:rolleyes:The type of typical responses I expected. I expect this childish stuff in the politics section, including from me.But this WAS a legitimate discussion about racing reduced to the stupidity of the politics forum.Joking or not, good going Nebe and TDF way to wreck a thread. rphud 02-23-2011, 08:11 AM Back on topic. I still can't get used to the idea of bump drafting. Used to be that would make for a fight after the race if they even waited for the race to end. Too much crashing and too many caution laps because of it. Might be time to make it against the rules. Back to drafting and passing, four wide at Talladega baby!!! Big Biscuit 02-23-2011, 10:43 PM F-1 racing is where it's at. They even race in the rain. 44829 vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
