Thanks for the heads up, Larry. I need to email them. I didn't receive the last issue for some reason and my subscription runs until April.

I am dying to try kayak fishing this season. I see on yakdawgs.com that they offer guided trips, seem slike a good way to try it out. So many places in eastern CT thru Narragansett...

Jim, it's not a website. Just a group of very attractive and intelligent members of this site who like to get together and fish out of kayaks. BigFish organizes "scrambles" and we try to get together and go to different locations to fish. Hopefully, being our second year coming up, we'll be a little more organized and have more people joining us. Even if the fishing is slow, the company is great and there are lots of laughs to be had.

Thanks! Slow fishing, with great company and lots of laughs, with possibly unattractive comrades, more or less summarizes my fishing career!

I took the brand new issue on the plane and spilled a Coke Zero on it just as I opened the magazine up :smash:

Jim in CT...

As the owner and operator of yakdawgs....I have relinquished the "guide service" and have stressed more community involvement in introducing anglers to kayak fishing. Did it help to make a few bucks...yeah....but it's not the reason why the site was born. We simply wanted to introduce newbies to the sport and introduce those curious about the sport to those who do it daily. We have returned to our roots and welcome anyone to simply join us on the water.

Best,

Rol

Hopefully it won't be an issue dedicated to all the new toys and "must-have" gadgets, and more of a showcase of people and places (without spot-burning, of course).

I'd rather hear about a personal adventure and accomplishment than hear about this years "hot" item to have, like a solar-powered fish-finder, or how to load up the 'yak with every conceivable electronic device AND have room for you and your rod.

I may actually buy that issue, provided it sticks to fishing and not advertising as the heart of the story/article.

If we were any more organized we couldn't call them "Scrambles"!:rotf2:

Jim...."Yak Rats" is just us S-B members (not all are attractive and not sure which one of us has the intelligence?):rotf2: who get together for yak fishing in different locations on designated weekends and/or holidays! Because the weather can be an issue.....sometimes we do not have a location nailed down until a few days before we get together. Last year we had "Scrambles" mostly on the south shore of Mass but this season we will be trying our best to hit spots on the North Shore of Mass, Rhode Island and Cape Cod! Just stay tuned in this forum for details! :uhuh:
