View Full Version : Happy First Day of Spring
striperman36 02-28-2011, 10:34 PM March 1st is known meteorologically as the 1st day of spring. The statistically worst 3 months of winter weather are behind us and now March as a transitional month brings vigorous swings in weather but with a gradual shifting from winter storms to more of the spring time events.
Happy Spring!

Looking down at the current outside temperature of "39*" and it being almost midnight is actually a relief.
For me, spring starts the first day in March that I can get my kayak into open water on my favorite largemouth pond.
Raven 03-01-2011, 04:36 AM 20 days to go non meteorogically speaking
Glad to hear the worst is behind us....So bring on the peepers:grins:

blondterror 03-01-2011, 07:09 AM Bring on the warmer temps... I want to see my lawn again
Raider Ronnie 03-01-2011, 07:30 AM Wouldn't mind a few more (plowable)snow storms :uhuh:
But also have to start betting boat ready to launch for early april so I need some warmer weather.
Gonna need to bring in a front end loader to mover the 4ft high pile of now solid snow/ice so the hauler can get the boat out of my yard.

Amen to that I know am being greedy now, but after the year we had last year. I need the money bad.
redcrbbr 03-01-2011, 10:46 AM I noticed a little bit of green starting to show up here and there in my lawn and the surrounding fields.
FishermanTim 03-01-2011, 11:44 AM Don't forget that daylight savings time is on March 13th, a week before the vernal equinox.
That should get peoples spirits lifting out of the winter blues!
RIJIMMY 03-01-2011, 11:57 AM lets hope we dont get all that rain we got last year......

Can you come over and do mine afterwards? I already had an offer from DerekI to dig it out! Only about 1ft blocking path not 4ft. I am more worried about the mud cycle!

I've noticed a bunch of downed tree branches popping up through the melting snow on my lawn. There are a few that I'm gonna have to take the chainsaw to. This should be a fun spring yard cleanup.:smash:
Saltheart 03-01-2011, 05:37 PM Yep , over the main hump but remember , there can still be some wild bumps in the road!
