Sundowner 03-04-2011, 07:09 PM wow! looks even gayer when I look at it
jredfly 03-04-2011, 07:31 PM It doesn't look sooo bad. I am sure some guys down your way will see this and hook up with you. Not sure where you are in RI but the TFCTGFN (S-B party) is in New Bedford tomorrow night and it is a great way to meet guys from the site and I am sure there will be some RI guys there. Good Luck JP

Funny chit.....
Don't sweat it here. With this crowd, if they're bustin' on ya, it's a good thing. It's just a wee bit early for setting up to meet for fishing. If you can make TFCTFN, it's probably the best offseason get together of folks jonesing to go striper fishing....
fishbones 03-05-2011, 12:23 AM I've mentioned in the past that we should have a forum for people looking for someone to fish with. Kind of a "hey, I'm heading down to SoCo tonight and looking for someone to fish with". Then work out the details through pm's so no spots are mentioned in the public forum.
As for "hooking up" with another guy, you might want to try another site for that. Or maybe an airport restroom. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

:wall:
Not saying you can't find people to fish with here but you might want to check out some of the surfcasting clubs in RI. Not sure where you are located but there has to be one that isn’t too far from you.
JohnR 03-10-2011, 01:37 PM Good stuff in this thread, from humor to advice.
Recommendations:
Local Clubs - there are several to consider and joining a club and getting to fish with others is one great way - where are you from?
Come to our Fishing Legs - we try to match comparable skills and get people fishing together.
I think a forum or process to get people fishing together is good and will be more necessary this year if gas prices tank.
Stay out of Airport Bathrooms. Wrong kind of fishing.
The Dad Fisherman 03-10-2011, 01:50 PM This guy might be interested in hooking up and wetting a line w/ you. :hihi:
I'd keep your eel bucket strapped to you side though if I were you....

The Dad Fisherman 03-10-2011, 01:54 PM And after I was a wise ass...I would definitely look nto a fishing club. When I 1st started I took that advice and signed up for one.....I've met a lot of good people and learned a lot from the experience.

Not that there is anything wrong with that...
stripermaineiac 03-10-2011, 04:16 PM LoL He aught to be up here in Maine. I can't talk anyone into going out on the rocks up here at night with me. They;re afraid of the slippery weed and won,t wear korkers. Yet they always ask to go with me. I don't have all that many sandy beaches up here LOL
robc22 03-10-2011, 05:47 PM Guy looks like most RI fishermen too me.......
MarkB 03-10-2011, 05:49 PM You're never alone when you're fishing - there's always the fish. :grins:
tattoobob 03-10-2011, 06:00 PM I always fish alone, I got tired of waiting for people, people canceling so now I just go alone. I can always count on Tagger to meet me tho
BigFish 03-10-2011, 07:01 PM Paul Bunyan.....let me offer you some advice! Last season we had a kayak forum that was pretty darn quiet (early season) and a bunch of guys who had or were buying kayaks and more than likely looking for someone to go with? I know I was......so I started the "Scrambles" to get people from the site who had kayaks together to fish and kayak and to try new places and to help each other along! Most of all just to get together and have a great time! I think its been a huge success?! Maybe if you try the same thing....as others have said say "Hey I am going to fish Soco.....anyone heading out and want to get together?"......just reach out as you have when the season gets here and you will find someone to get out there with. If you have a kayak by any chance I invite you to join us!:uhuh: Definitely attend one of the "Legs" though!!!
joe the plumber 03-10-2011, 07:08 PM Guy looks like most RI fishermen too me.......

piemma 03-12-2011, 05:23 AM I can count on one hand the people I will fish with. It is getting fewer and fewer as I get older. Just totally intolerant of imbeciles.
Ken_J 03-12-2011, 10:29 AM "any form of getting some type of action, such as, making out, feeling things, or oral pleasure or sex between 2 people. "A hook up" is whats referred to as doing those things when your not going out with anyone"
Urban Dictionary: hooking up (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hooking%20up)
This didnt used to mean this. Kids these days ...

JohnR 03-13-2011, 06:49 AM Piemma - you can tell cabin fever is well kicked in. Can't wait for Spring.
Back on topic folks :tooth: (yeh, right)
P.B. - See what you started ;) - your first thread that might get flushed :buds:
piemma 03-13-2011, 02:01 PM I agree John. We use to have "Flame Wars". Now we have a "Flamer" thread. (no offense meant to PB. It's just where the rest of these imbeciles took it)
I am putting the boat in the water in one month and I don't care how cold it is, how windy or how wet. I will sit in my slip and drink wine and smoke cigars if I have to. Basic Pat, you listening???
chefchris401 03-14-2011, 02:11 PM up until last season i fished alone 99% of the time, due to my schedule and people slowing my fishing down.
Last year I was fortunate enough to meet a few like minded wet suit surfcasters and fished with them on almost every occasion.
Nice to have some one else fishing next to you, helps find fish, plug selection and some added safety while your 50 plus yards from shore.
It is very tough to find consistent people to go with but once you do makes the fishing more enjoyable. Now were all good friends.
Once the season hits full swing, throw up a post, Im sure youll get pm's to meet up.
