Saw this first hand last night. Always inspect you arrows....

Now that's an eye opener!!!!! Would there be less damage if he was wearing a glove?

Is that at Reedy's? I've actually seen carbon arrows do some funky things when they get old. I hope he's alright. As for the glove Mike, as the speed the arrow is moving when it comes off the bow string at the point of release.....not a chance.

That will take a stitch.

That's crazy, looks painful.

Can you elaborate on what happened?

I am not familiar with Carbon arrows, but wonder if this was user error? I used aluminum and cannot see how this could happen unless there was some sort of splintering of the carbon fibers that allowed the arrow to catch on it's way by, or was he holding the arrow with his forward hand while the bow was drawn?

I am sure the arrow had some sort of fracture, that was not seen by the operator.

He nocked, and drew the arrow, and as he was going to release it, it exploded and the back third of the arrow with the vanes went into his bow hand.
