Mike 03-24-2011, 07:24 AM Optical illusion, Watch the longest cast from the other side, they can't reach either.... Last year we were seeing the same thing, a friend could reach the what looked like the middle and the fishermen on the otherside were casting approx. 20 yards from him. And yes, the fish were blowing up in that 20 yard space! afterhours 03-24-2011, 07:42 AM gee dave i thought that only happened to me... Back Beach 03-24-2011, 08:20 AM y is it ?????? that when fishing THE CANAL the fish are always breaking on the other side:wall:...why or is it just you???? This is a piss poor excuse for coming home empty handed all the time. I've learned to just tell people I wasn't fishing that day when I miss out on a blitz which is, by the way, very common for me. Honest indian the fish were right in the middle at the widest part of the Canal.!! :) Redsoxticket 03-24-2011, 10:25 AM When you're making the longest cast perceivable with your setup you may be drawing the fish to that area. Try making half that distance cast and when the fish break at say 3/4% cast then you cast at 100% for the presentation. That little thing is going to look like Victory at Sea meets Whirlpool of Doom in the canal with a bunch of White and Gray squawking Rodans swooping on it. stiff tip 03-25-2011, 07:03 AM love the skippy thing.....i spent 500 bucks on a rod and reel for distance casting ; and for 29.95 i could be a distance fisherman and a boat capt at the same time. but is that kindalike boat fishing in the canal??????? u could swim lure out in the middle and leave it there..... Right place, right time. Flipping a coin is as good as any. I did it one year and it payed off well for me, next year not so well so I gave that up and now as I approach the bridge in the early morning dark I let go of the wheel and let the truck decide. Pulls to the right Boston side, pulls to the left Cape side. That's why I don't get front end alignments, it cramps my style. new jack 03-25-2011, 08:04 PM Attach your line to one of Slip's jigs, have someone untie it from a tree on the other side, than work your offering back.
