The Indian navy has seized around 120 pirates, mostly from Somalia, over the past few months. Two weeks ago, the navy captured 61 pirates when they attacked a naval ship.

Indian warships have been escorting merchant ships as part of international anti-piracy surveillance in the Indian Ocean area since 2008.

Wonder what/where the pirates end up after being guest of the Indian navy?

Seized 120 pirates. Now it's time to sail 10 miles out to the middle of the ocean and push them all overboard as a statement of what happens to pirates. Forget the prison cell with accommodations that are probably better than any living conditions in Somalia.

Being locked up in Mumbai is probably no birthday party. But I like Johhny D suggestion.

I get the idea that the typical prison cell in India makes open country look like the Marriott--even in a #^&#^&#^&#^&hole like Somalia.

You don't hear about them attacking russian ships because that is exactly what the Russians did--put them in their leaking boat (with holes) without food or water and set them adrift. Problem solved cheaply!

Put some 50cals on the boat decks or even a sniper. Problem solved.

Actually, what the Russians did was handcuff them to the rail of their own boat, and then blow it up.

I don't understand why they take pirates as prisoners. Especially the USA who most likely will release them to some country that will let them go. Them Russin have good ideas sometimes! :)
