Ordered a USB 3.0 PCIe interface card for my new computer. Plan is to run an external hard drive docking station ( docking station with included 1T 6Gb/Sec drive for $49 after MIR) through the USB 3.0. I like the idea of the docking station but USB 2 would be pretty slow for whole drive image backups so decided to spend the $24 delivered for the new interface card. I believe USB3 is 10X the speed of USB 2. So about 5 Gb/Sec which is pretty close the the max capability of drives installed internally using SATA.

I got a 2 port card so one for hard drive docking station and one for Blu Ray burner/player so I can HDMI it to the TV on the wall above it. Holding off on the Blu Ray for a while as things are changing fast in that arena right now. When I do get the BD Burner , that should complete the whole new set up.
