So the streaky B's draw the dreaded Habs in round one. Should be an intense and entertaining series decided by good discipline and goaltending. The team that stays outta the sin-bin will have an advantage and the B's will need Thomas to keep going with his epic season. Gonna need some dirty goals and lotsa traffic in front of Price. Look for Lucic to come up big and Sequin or Ryder to be watching from the pressbox.

I say Bruins in 6. What say you all?

GO BRUINS!

Bruins in 5!! Go B's

I say the defense needs to stay in position unlike the last half dozen games. Lucic has a good track record against the Habs/Price and Horton has been awake so I expect a lot from the Krejci line. Still can't underestimate their speed and ability to work down low.

Thomas will back them up as he always does and with a miracle the power play will come around.

B's need to stay out of the box and D needs to jump in the play.
B's in 5!

I'm always nervous when the play the Habs, but at least they finished strong against them and have a little momentum. Not to mention, they have home ice. Check out this prediction on all the playoff matchups.

Yeah, and I don't see the B's going 8-1 against the Habs and Pens in the first 2 rounds.

Lucic had the worst game of his career last night.

I can't stand seeing Claude's confused look behind the bench any more. Looks like he should be in a clown suit..........

My thoughts, exactly. Price played really well, but the B's missed a couple open nets and put most of their shots right on Price's chest. He didn't have to move much for someone who faced 31 shots.

Call me a homer but I still think the B's are heading deep into these playoffs, the Sox will recover from the bad start and be in contention and the Celtics will go to the finals again.

these guys are lacking in the heart dept. to start. they need to play physical hockey- hit everything in sight and finish your checks. cloode is not a motivator at all (i like the guy). put a taz behind this bench and you'd see a different team.

Clogston29
04-17-2011, 01:57 PM
Gotta wonder if they're under achieving because Claude is holding them back with his system or over achieving due to his system. I kind of think its the latter and that the talent on the team is overrated. We will probably find out next year with same team and different coach.

Can anyone tell me why Hal Girl was singing the Canadian Anthem before the game? The guy was born in Massachusetts. I love Canada and no disrespect to them but really Hal? Thought it was weird. I wouldn’t expect Lucic to be singing the Star Spangled Banner before a game……….

2-0 right now, they win this and they are back in it.

I like Dale's call of a game but Jack is way more entertaining. Too popular to get fired I say. Bob Neumier is by far the best though, his radio calls a few years back were awesome.

IMO

Jack Edwards although entertaining at times, he tries too hard and says the same thing over and over “Gretzky’s Office, etc, etc. (Brickley is top notch on the color though)

Dale is and always was terrible (can’t stand him on the radio either)

Wasn’t impressed with Neumi , he should stick to Horse Racing and the Olympics……..

Wish Fred Cusick was still around, he was the best……………

Neumi is great. No filter at all. Never forget him interviewing the women's 4*100 team right after dropping the baton and asking them if passing the baton was something they practiced.

Yes, that is all good. I think Jack does a good call of the game though yes some of the lines are corny.

Dale, though I liked listening to him on talk radio, couldn't call hockey play by play for a mite league. Absolutely suc*ed.

Not just sure if it is because I grew up listening to Fred Cusick and Johnny Pierson but they were indeed the best of the best.

What a roller coaster of emotion on this game wooohoooo.

Indeed. My fiance saw sides of me she had yet to see in our six years together. Went from ultra-pumped before the game, to distraught and sitting on the floor in almost-tears when it got to 3-1, to disbelieving joy when they got back into it, back to depression after Suban's bullet-goal, to draining relief when Kelly tied it up and ultimately to literally jumping/fist-pumping/ and diving on top of her in elation when Ryder sealed the deal.

Playoff Hockey at it's best! Ferrence flipping off the fans was awesome! :uhuh:

I don't mind Jack, he is enthusiastic about the home team and that is is the way it should be. Versus has great "neutral" coverage...I prefer the bias when I watch the Bruins. (I can watch Catherine T all night:drool:) I find hockey so much more exciting than Baseball or Football, I just can't watch them anymore. Maybe because I played alot of hockey as a kid but I just love the game particularly in the playoffs. My question is WHY can't the refs call games like this all year???

Tim has been OK in this series but I think he has let in too many soft goals (while making the killer hard saves). I would like to see the Bruins trade him after these playoffs, I am not sure he has much left in him He is worth something now, last year he was worthless. It is just a matter of time before you get stuck with a 5 million dollar has been.

Big game tonight...They need to hit them hard right off the bat and take the crowd out of the game.

BTW, I love the finger. The Habs are a great team (diving aside) I dislike Habs fans! When they boo-ed the American National Anthem last year...F-them!

Ugh- yet another home game 7 for this team. Despite carrying the play for most of the night, they had few quality scoring chances and the ffffing power-play is an ffffing JOKE. Lucic getting the gate was NO BIG LOSS as he was doing nothing and has done nothing all series long. Kaberle is even a bigger disappointment. Thomas not at fault giving up two 5 on 3 goals.

As big of a fan as I am, I would not go to the game if someone gave me tix for tomorrow night. Was there for the game 7 loss against Carolina and cannot put myself thru that again. :wall:

yeah the PP sucks. They use to have a good PP early in the season but it eroded to squat. They have got to improve that.

IMO they were the better team tonight, they outplayed them all 3 periods but were at the bad end of many really bad calls, many one sided calls too. Lucic should have gotten 2 mins for that hit...it was not that bad and the guy turned his back to him, if you do that you deserve what you get.

The habs could only score with 5 on 3. That is pretty sad considering that was the best they got.

Well, IMO they have to start calling dives, that was an embarrassment to the game last night. The habs are good actors.

The game was too close for my liking, if we don't get that power play going there is NO WAY we can go much deeper in the playoffs. It has to be a weapon. They need to mix up the players until they find some chemistry.

I also think the refs need to be accountable and the calls ALOT MORE BALANCED!! There needs to be some review of these calls. I don't care if it slows up the game. The last two games were dictated by poor calls. That "elbow" by Thorton? WTF?????!! Also if that last high stick penalty by Bergeron was called I saw at least 6 similar high sticks that resulted in head snap-backs that game that were not called.

Lastly, The "head hit" by ferrence on Halpren??? Give me a break he was bracing for a hit from Halpren and his shoulder caught him a little high, it is not like he was chasing after him to hit him. Halpren was so beat up from previous plays that his body is shutting down.

Jesus I really dislike the habs, good skill but the gamesmanship borders on cheating if you ask me. I am glad this is over. They laying on the ice appearing seriously injured...and then they play the next shift??? that should result in a 5 min misconduct if you ask me.

I hope they are working on PP stuff this morning.
