I need some help in selecting a digital camera to carry in the bag. Had a reg. digital I carried in a ziplock but on one long walk to a rock I heard it "pop" and it is no more. Any insight would help, thanks.

I was at staples yesterday and they had an olympus, shock proof underwater camera for $170. Might be one of the above

The olympus stylus is the best in my opinion. I've had it for 3 seasons and many trips out, it is still as good as new.

I have the Fuji 33zWP and like it as well. The cheapest waterproof (to 3 meters and even a wave over the head is less than that) I could find last year. keep it in dry top pocket. (really like not having to worry about water and not have to keep camera in a ziplock bag). Works fine, nice pics and was under 120 and just got a second sandisk 4MB memory card for it for 9.99. Because it can be used in rain etc it has become our travel camera of choice as well. Does video as well. No viewfinder but good size screen on back and nice flash for night bass pictures. loads of functions and settings if you want but can be as simple as point and shoot as well.

what's the pixel resolution on that Fuji ?
because those underwater pics came out wicked crisp.

I have the fuji... great daytime underwater pics... But the grainiest night shots I have ever seen! I have TERRIBLE shots of great fish from last season. I would have better quality with my cell phone and a flash light... I can post some pics if anyone doubts.

the fuji has 10 mp. 35- 105 zoom. i found these cameras are light sensitive. so now i don,t use the flash anymore for low light pics. i,ll be experimenting with this more this yr.

Olympus Tough 8K has been very dependable, when I look at the pics on the view finder & comp they look ok but when they get printed Wow just that much better.

Here's a pic from last year of my daughter in the pool.
