Where's the best place to get these, best meaning cheapest. Yard sales and Craigslist haven't worked to well for me.

Thanks.

Try bennys, mist of the bikes near the canal have them. Sailworld, serious cycles, and the shop off of exit 2 on rte 3. Wald is the name of the company that makes the baskets

Bennys may be out of stock and will not match Amazon's non tax price for the big Walds...

Custom yes in that I modified the dimensions from shelf taken out of a greenhouse window.

I have one more shelf that could be customized for a plug! Being all aluminum don't have to worry about rust or rotting.

Only if the Manomet store cant help you, Wald Corporation , Wald.com, is the company that makes them

I got the same Wald large baskets a while ago ,they were on clearance from REI I only paid 29.00, whole order 36.00 shipped to my door. REI currently doesnt have the large in stock though, what a price difference from the manufacturer.

Milk crate, heavy duty zip ties... sometimes a bike basket doesnt have to be a "bike Basket" from the store...

Like most things you can more or less spend as little or as much as you want. I made my cruiser from my wife's Fuji mountain bike. which she no longer rode. So to me, the main bike was as good as free. I went with the medium sized Wald rear baskets, cost me around $30 during an Amazon sale. A 4' piece of PVC and a couple of rubber drain couplers (to protect the reel stems), and an improved comfortable seat are the only other things I spent money on. I think I've got about $60 total into it.

JUST REMEMBER PUT YOUR ROD HOLDERS STRAIGHT NOT ANGLED BACK OR TO THE SIDES

added a center flat section with my sons old skateboard deck ripped to width and attached with cable ties.... scratchy grip-tape on top hold things in place when bungied down... Tim and I made this deck a few yrs ago but it was not flexible enough for "good carving " perfect new life for this laminated piece... he says it has good mojo....
