Just a recommendation for those of you interested in breweries.
I visited/toured the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville PA on Wednesday. Oldest brewery in the US and a great tour if you find yourself in PA. About a two hour drive northwest of Philly. Stored their barrels of beer in coal mine caves back in the day (which you get to tour). Tasting was as good as Yuengling gets. After the tour head on down to Maroons Sports bar in Pottsville for $1.50 drafts.

i dont know why everyone loves this beer, its ok, its there version of narragansett.

Every time i go to NJ or NY i have people who want me to bring back cases of this stuff.

Its good for what it is.

The brewery is very cool.

I gotta disagree on that one...Its MUCH better than Narragansett. It is one of the better mass produced beers around...... and I'm no Philly fan :hihi:

I love it - still my favorite mass produced beer that is not a microbrew - especially when on tap. Black and Tan is great. Chris - stop by the edge on Saturday and I'll give you a bottle.

Yuengling reminds me of how hard it once was to get Coors on the east coast back in the 1970s. Coors had no distribution east of the Misississipi back then. Yuengling can not keep up with demand with its three breweries (another one in PA and one in Tampa). That is why it is not readily avaliable everywhere in the USA.

I used to bring a case of Coors as carry on luggage back in the 80s try doing that now.
