I'm thinking of updating some of my electronics and was wondering if anyone knows a good installer that doesn't mind traveling down to the marina and doing the work while the boat is in the water this summer. The boat will be in Revere.

Thanks!

If you buy local they will usually install it. Generally electronics installation is no big deal. Especially if you replacing stuff.

Looks like the best price is online. These new electronics need to run on NMEA 2000 backbones and I've never dealt with that stuff before. I can wire a stereo or a VHF, but trying to wire a new chartplotter/sounder/XM weather thru an N2K network is confusing the hell out of me.

Maybe it's easier than I think....

It really is easier than you think to much extent. I wired all the new electronics in Macojoe's boat. Radar, GPS, integrated Fishfinder, VHF radio. A couple things I hadn't run into in the past, but nothing too difficult. It's all working nicely anyways.

BigBo....I saw the install you did on Joe's boat. Nice work. I sent you a PM.

All open ends of nmea2000 need to be terminated otherwise nothing works.
Otherwise its just plug and pray.
