i want to wrap a fluke rod. looking for a blank.what do you guys reccomend? want something lite made of graphite something that can handle 4-8oz sinkers and braided line. thank you

For Fluke duty, I prefer an E-Glass rod. Between banging around on the boat, heavy sinkers in good current and braid, I've found the graphite rods to be too fragile and prone to tip breakage.
I have a couple Rainshadow/Forecast E-Glass rods that have stood up quite well. I think they are built on the SWB70H

There used to be some really cheap 7 foot glass plus graphite blanks in L to H (like 70L) ratings. Mike T used to sell them. I forget the brand.

super seeker hercules inshore light. just over 7'. composite. mdeium/medium fast action. can be trimmed slightly from the tip if needed.
calstar grafighter or lami triflex composites in the L power should work as well. both of these are more medium fast in action.
i see no reason to use straight glass on fluke rods.
how deep of water are you fishing? reel? jiggin or bait, or both?

snake, how much current will you be fishing in? so, depth around 40'-60', or will you hit 100' once in a while? or, less that 40'? w/ bait, you can use a blank that is medium or even slow in action.

I built two of the Mudhole E glass blanks and they are pretty sweet! I did a 20-40lb rod and a 17-25lb rod and they are going to fit my needs as fluke and a heavier rod for diamond jigs. Both rods with components cost me about 130 bucks total.
