Aunt Jul asked me to get on here and post to give everyone an update:

As you know, her last post had a very positive outlook for Bill. He was expected to come home today and begin his recovery. Unfortunately, things never go as planned.

Last night, Bill got taken into emergency surgery on his colon. They found a hole while running some tests that they hadn't seen earlier and it has caused some significant problems. When they opened him up they found that his organs looked very bad because they haven't been getting the proper blood due to the poor state of his heart. Last night, the surgeon gave my aunt a very grim outlook for Bill to make it through the night but he fortunately is still hanging on. He is in very critical condition...

Unfortuantely, the Dr said that he is suffering from Multiple System Failure and his kidneys have stopped functioning. He hasn't woken up since before the surgery as he is highly sedated and hooked up to about 100 different hoses and machines in the ICU. There is just no way that he can breath on his own. This afternoon, they decided to hook him up to dialysis even though there is a lot of risk with his heart. He just has alot of bacteria in his blood because he is also in septic shock from the colon issues.

On top of that, the doctor informed us that one of his Lymph nodes tested positive for cancer and the tumor that they removed from his colon had very aggresive cancer. However, that is the least of the concern right now.

Billy needs some big time prayers right now. If he pulls through, its going to be a long long tough recovery. It is sure amazing how quickly things can change. He is one hell of a guy and my fishing mentor.


I sure hope he is dreaming of fishing and I hope he realizes how many people are praying for him...

I am so sorry to hear that Adam. I have known Bill and Jules for going on 12 years since I joined MSBA. They are good friends and I am still holding out hope for Bills recovery. Jules hang in there and be strong.

Anyone know how Bill is doing?

Basshunter aka Jim Dow aka MSBA Prez. visited with Bill and Jules on Friday I believe. Jim said though Bill is heavily sedated he is "stable" I guess might be a good description.......perhaps a little improvement in his condition which I am sure is guarded at this point. Hopefully Jules or Adam will update soon and bring good news. Keep pulling for Bill folks!

Spoke with Jules a few hrs. ago.
Bill is still in very rough shape, has shown "very slight" improvement, which is a positive sign.
Jules tells me that he has a rough road ahead to recovery, and said to tell everyone to keep up the prayers for our dear friend.
