Mad seal silencer. Me thinks someone got his fish stole one too many times. :fury:
Typhoon 06-10-2011, 06:23 AM I just posted a comment on the globe article about how it was a good thing. Wait until the moonbats see that.
albin35 06-10-2011, 06:24 AM So I asked What he felt after shooting them?
Recoil
PRBuzz 06-10-2011, 06:25 AM Just chumming the waters for GW sharks! Here sharky, sharky...
maddmatt 06-10-2011, 07:02 AM thats the best news i'll hear all day!
maddmatt 06-10-2011, 07:05 AM some one owes that guy 30$ for the bounty
Raven 06-10-2011, 07:16 AM Ex seal ent
Sea Flat 06-10-2011, 07:23 AM Wow!! The report I heard said there were tons of people on this case. I hope no one was stupid enough to do this from this site. Not that we all wouldn't love to see less seals, but just in terms of the consequences, probably not a smart idea.

Fishoholic 06-10-2011, 08:17 AM What do you call 5 dead seals on the beach?
....................
A good start!
And you'll notice that the one guy interviewed said that it was probably fisherman !!!! Yup..........blame us for everything.
Fishoholic 06-10-2011, 08:39 AM I read the comments on both.... reminds me why I hate people :smash: a firing squad for the shooter...

Jackbass 06-10-2011, 09:23 AM You are 100 percent right. I hate seals as much as the next Guy but we have enough stacked against us to keep what access to the fishery we have between birds seals rich "conservationists" something like this happening will affect all of us one way or another. I am certain of it. If it was a fisherman I hope the Guy gets caught and punishment served. Until they change the laws it is not our place to take them into our own hands. And you'll notice that the one guy interviewed said that it was probably fisherman !!!! Yup..........blame us for everything.

I say we blame those "frikken sharks with lasers mounted on their heads!" :drevil:
....only they were laser scopes for rifles! :drevil:
FishermanTim 06-10-2011, 09:42 AM How long before we get a recipe for "braised seal rump roast", "harbor seal tips" or "seal gumbo"?

Seal Chop Suey
Seal Marsala
Seal Fired Rice
Seal au gratin
Seal Rangoon
Moo Goo Seal Pan
Seal under Glass
Smoked Seal Ribs
Guy must have had a S & W .38 revolver. Only has five shots.
Shooter was only protecting nesting piping plovers about 500 yards away, LOL:rotf2:.
Chesapeake Bill 06-10-2011, 03:52 PM Everyone knows that piping plover tastes really good deep fried in seal blubber with a light sprinkling of sea salt and pepper...

Fishoholic 06-10-2011, 04:03 PM could you imagine if the seals ate the plovers and sharks could keep up with the seals.... the perfect world :buds:
UserRemoved1 06-10-2011, 04:49 PM They just found a 6th one.
What a shame. :hee:

on a more serious note tho... if this gets proven as being done by fishermen, rec or comm. expect some friggin consequences, that will plauge all who like to hit the beach with rod and reel, and perhaps inshore fish from small crafts....
sorry, but it's true....bad juju here.
ivanputski 06-10-2011, 08:38 PM only 5?
iamskippy 06-10-2011, 09:08 PM kill em all let DEM sort em out!
On a serious note, it wouldn't suprise me if Greenpeace or ALF was behind this. "Drawing" attention to an innocent party..... We all know how those wackjobs are, I seem to recall something about disturbing nesting plovers years ago. Any comm guy worth his weight in salt would remember to make shure to weight the carcass.

I had the same thought particularly with NOAA culling the herd in the Pac NW. I am sure it has some environmentalists pissed. I am not going to speculate anything on whodunnit. Just hope they can not pin it on a fisherman.
Saltheart 06-11-2011, 12:31 PM Seals are sometimes a PITA. So is the traffic on 495 for the ride to the Ditch. So are all the weekend worriors who need 100 yards either side of them to not tangle lines, so are the slippery rocks , so are the loose debris like rope etc that snags your line. Its all part of the game. If it was easy we would be doing something else more challenging.
Do you really think people should be out shooting seals? There just another creature out there trying to enjoy life. Yes I've cursed them when they are 100 yards out with a 20 pounder flapping in their teeth while you have been skunked for hours. Sure I would shoo them away if I could. But would you shoot one?
I hope however did it has a big mouth and brags about it. Fine him to whatever extent is allowed but please be sure he can never legally carry a gun again!

BluesHarp 06-11-2011, 03:32 PM Good thing they weren't Navy Seals, those things shoot back... Just ask Bin Laden, Oh, sorry too late, he's not talking.
A few more Great Whites and it could be a two fer one. The seals and tourists. Its natures way.

Better hope they don't catch this guy with a bunch of rods in the back otherwise it's gonna give PETA/plover huggers/etc ALOT of ammo.
This won't be a local or state deal, this is fed. So someone is in some very deep poopies.

Unfortunately for you, seals have nothing to do with freedom.
