View Full Version : Some parade pics from today
Mike P 06-18-2011, 08:12 PM Traffic was heavy going in. Backed up for over a mile at the Burgin Parkway exit off Rte. 3. All cars waiting to go into the Quincy Adams T garage. We finally got through it and parked at my wife's office. The T was a cattle car going in.

Mike P 06-18-2011, 08:18 PM We worked our way up Tremont Street and found some breathing room across from Suffolk University Law School. For us. Not so much for the people across the way.

Mike P 06-18-2011, 08:23 PM Around quarter to noon, 45 minutes after the start at the new Garden, the duck boats arrived. Of course, the whole Jacobs family was riding in the first one.

ProfessorM 06-19-2011, 12:57 PM thanks Mike. I never knew you were a B's fan. I was thinking Islanders.
Luv the pic of Rene Rancourt
Saltheart 06-19-2011, 08:16 PM A great Day to be in Beantown.
Scary how young the players look out of uniform!

The B's are the only New England rooting interest for me. I never thought I'd see another Cup here while the Jacobs were in charge, but they proved me wrong. I followed the Islanders, too, when I lived down there.
I think that this is the best of all Boston titles of the last 10 years, too, from a standpoint of a team overachieving. Even in 2001, the Pats had loads of talent, even if they were big underdogs to the Rams. The Sox were loaded, the Celts were put together for that run, but the B's just won on hard work and determination.
Slipknot 06-20-2011, 08:00 AM You said it Mike, They earned it
Although I feel the Pats 2001 team really earned that one too
it's just a little tougher in a 7 game series.
I was a lot more thrilled and surprised by the Pats win.
Thanks for posting pics
I saw some of the parade on DVR
was there more people than at the red sox parades? it looked like it
Boston is once again a hockey town

Three 7 games series, and they started each one off 0-2. It doesn't get much harder than that. Especially starting off 0-2 at home to the Habs.

I went in with my son and a friend and his son both 6 years old. We will never forget that day. So glad we participated!
