Hi all, Well Van posted the latest scare the other day, as I almost watched Bill slip out of my hands, God this is so hard. Today he is stable but still critical, as his heart rate is very high today and he his still throwing in some irregular heart beats so they had to put him on meds to lower it. He is still very weak and on the Breathing machine as he is not strong enough to breath on his own. His kidneys have failed and they do not think they will come back from this last surgery so they are going to put a new line in his chest for Dialysis as the one he has now is in his groin, and the chest one is more permanent as he may have to be on it for the rest of his life. Only time will tell on that.
Tomorrow or the next day is the next big hurtle as they are going to have to put a tracheotomy in his throat to breath as that is the only way they will be able to get him off the breathing machine and it will hopefully help him make quicker progress so they can get him strong enough to try and get him out of bed and sitting up and trying to get him on the way to recovering.
Only problem is they have to do surgery again on him to put it in, and his heart is so weak now that we do not know if he will make it thru the procedure or not. If they get it in and he makes it thru surgery after a few days, then they will try to start feeding him thru a feeding tube down his nose to see if his stomach is working and his bowel before they can move to liquids that he can drink and soft foods.
Which will be the next big hurtle after the trach. as every time so far that we have gotten him to the liquid and food part is when his insides blow a hole and bam here we go again. He is in so many catch 22 situations right now that they are treating one thing to help him but it also affects other things. The other thing is that if we get him to the food part and start to get him up and moving around it will take him months to get up to parr, then they will have to do surgery to reverse the colostomy, and the tracheotomy and maybe his kidneys will work or maybe he will have to do dialysis 3-4 times a week. AAAHHHGGGG it is all so overwhelming and I try and just take it one day at a time and sometimes on hour at a time as this has been a roller coaster ride from hell. Then after all of that they will have to address Colon cancer as one of the lymph nodes was positive and its a very muscinus cancer and very rapid. SOOOOO that is where we are at.
I can not THANK ALL OF YOU ENOUGH for putting up the lures and reels, and stuff to raise money to help Bill and I get thru this, I am Very Humbled to say the least and all of you are what is helping give me strength and Bill to get thru this hole sad ordeal. THANK YOU ALL VERY VERY MUCH from the bottom of my heart.
