For those who may be interested:

TRURO —
Lisa Sette, a scientist who works for the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies’ Marine Animal Entanglement Response Team, will talk about the natural history of gray seals and their patterns of behavior on Cape Cod at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Truro Public Library. Sette, who is investigating the movements and site fidelity of gray seals, has been monitoring several seal haul-out locations around the Cape and Islands, including the National Seashore and spots in Wellfleet and Truro. All are welcome to this free program.

Just curious...Did you go last night? I attended a meeting with her and another member of the Ctr for Coastal Studies [Owen Nichols] last winter at the Nauset Rod&Gun Club about the seals. They were looking for input and possible help in a future study about the seals. They took our names and addresses."We'll be in touch"......Never heard a word from either of them.I e-mailed Owen about helping and what the status was........NOTHING BUT CRICKETS!!!!

Saltfly,

I've dug through my e-mails and can't find a "saltfly" anywhere. I assume you e-mailed under your real name, but I can't find it - call 508-487-3623 x128 and leave a message (with your real name!), or try another e-mail - sometimes they do get buried. I do my best to return all e-mails and phone calls, and I'm sorry you weren't able to reach me. We are still working to start research projects on seal and fishery interactions - I'm happy to talk with you more - we don't plan on doing any such projects without partners in the fishing community.

Best,

Owen
