Consensus for most productive lures this weekend was.... darter (chartruese) and...... the stick shad.

Don't see many fish pictures? How did you guys make out? You had a nice weekend weather wise.

It is a great place. Visit it often. It is great just walking around when your not fishing. It must have been awesome there a long time ago. It is close for me to take the boat over and camp out with the crew (family) on a whim. I normally bring the surf rod and skulk the beach at night and try to remember what it was like before the Internet, TV fishing shows and magazines made it so popular with the fishing public. If you think it is nice now you should have been there 25 years ago. (I am sure someone said the same thing when I first visited the place )


Chartreuse darter? That is one I don't own. Must attract the Gay bass.:biglaugh:

Weather sucked, windy as a bastard there both days. few fish caught, GregW had the Hot hand Friday night...I think everybody got fish...just not hot and heavy..... and no cows.

BlondTerror was the fishing animal of the weekend.....he kayaked over to Quicks Hole both days to fish during the day and then went out Surcasting w/ us til 3 AM and crawled all along the rocks....

then there was the 40 (Quantity, not age) or so Female Skinny Dippers over at Churches Friday night.....:shocked:

That was good weather compared to most days there. If you were looking for 5-10 SW forgetaboutit, that will not happen on weekends, you can bank on it.

The other hot plug for me was a yellow/white eelie that is a reproduction of a Don Musso plug... I caught 5 fish on it Sunday night when i went out with Bob and his son from 10PM-3AM... the small chartreuse Musso style darter made by Numbskull was so hot on thurday night I caught (4) 36" fish in the span of only 6 casts... They were in close on a perfect warm night with a nice surge happening not far from the pyramids... mark was 40 feet away and he did not hook up even when I lent him the hot plug... lol

I also did very well with a pearl white darter that I made (cloned from Numbskulls) There was moonlight on the nights that I did well..

I was chatting with a cougar and her 23 yr old daughter who were both hotties.. the 23 yr old dared me to skinny dip ... they liked our "gear"

I will bet yellow over white SS darter was a close second/third. Bigger fish on a Jersey fav school bus bomber. Last year was another bigger fish (on for a bit) on another Jersey fav Smokey Joe Redfin. Changing the hook before fishing the plug made the difference this year. Live and learn.

Walkin' your son off the beach at 2am after catchin fish into a mess of skinny dippin' drunken women was priceless. My guess is Justin will be joining us again next year. Just a guess mind you.

We know you didn't, you were probably asleep by the time the sun went down but it is more fun to poke the fun at you. (Dani - we're pulling his leg ad only hoping he gets in a little trouble, not real trouble :tooth: ).

Didn't realize day of the week was a factor with weather.

This was probably my tenth trip out there and arguably the worst conditions for fishing the sout side. Water was really dirty. Not saying it can't get worse but more often than not it"s been A LOT better.
