Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device From what I understand, each year SN takes recipes from home brewers and puts out the best of the bunch in sampler 12 packs. It's a pretty cool way to try some different beers that you might not normally buy. rphud 07-01-2011, 05:01 PM I find myself developing a fondness for these double IPA's. Longtrail is quite good on tap if you can find it. Had the beer camp box for a grad party a couple weeks back. Very good mix. luds 07-09-2011, 04:26 PM What makes a double IPA a double? Even more hops........2X the boosiness? spence 07-09-2011, 05:04 PM What makes a double IPA a double? Even more hops........2X the boosiness? Usually it means twice the malt which translates into more alcohol, most are 8-9 percent. Given it's an IPA usually a lot of hops to balance it all out. Even more hops........2X the boosiness? You need to ask the brewer....or the Marketing Department for their reasoning for the name. Some will say its because of Double the Malt, others will say its Double the Hops. Then you run into the "OK why is it called Double and Not Imperial"...thats the question for the Marketing Guys :hihi: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
