I seem to see one every 5 minutes PRBuzz 07-08-2011, 06:38 AM I'm seeing a lot too and when not too far out of my way, I net them! Yesterday we picked up a "Happy 4th". iamskippy 07-08-2011, 07:00 AM so are you doing your part to pick them up? nice job Buzz. striperman36 07-08-2011, 07:07 AM buzz picked up everything yesterday Mr. Sandman 07-08-2011, 07:14 AM No...I have to say I am not picking them up. It would distract me, I am out there to fish not be a trash collector. I say make them illegal to sell within 200 miles from any coast. These things last forever out there iamskippy 07-08-2011, 07:17 AM No...I have to say I am not picking them up. It would distract me, I am out there to fish not be a trash collector. PRBuzz 07-08-2011, 07:25 AM No...I have to say I am not picking them up. .................... not be a trash collector. I'm in training to work for keeperreaper! I'm looking to franchise the offshore business accounts.:rotf2: keeperreaper 07-08-2011, 07:59 AM I'm in training to work for keeperreaper! I'm looking to franchise the offshore business accounts.:rotf2: LOL!!! Sea Dangles 07-08-2011, 04:00 PM 45 miles offshore today and there were more out there than inside BI. Raven 07-08-2011, 05:15 PM interesting, i remember reading about a huge group of aerial baloons launched from some european country recently.... :grins: Moses 07-08-2011, 08:49 PM Absolutely everywhere. Fished off Peaked Hill to Golf Ball 2 weeks ago between 2-7 miles offshore, picked up 13 "graduation" related balloons. Rob Rockcrawler 07-09-2011, 04:42 AM THey should be outlawed for sure. No matter where you go, on the beach on a boat they are everywhere. beamie 07-09-2011, 05:14 AM At least the Mylar balloons tend to float on top. The thing I hate the most is the plactic bags from the supermarket.....they seem to suspend in the water 2 feet below......works great on engine intakes:smash: Mr. Sandman 07-10-2011, 08:23 AM After they have been out there a year or so, the printing wears off and they morph into what looks like a man-o-war (I don't litter, in fact I clean up after others quite often, but I am not going to zig zag around the ocean and pick up balloons all day, IMO this needs to be dealt with at the source) Raven 07-10-2011, 08:48 AM the island of floating debris in the ocean where it gathers naturally due to current is as large as the state of TEXAS :hs: Swede 07-10-2011, 03:33 PM If anyone finds a mylar balloon that says happy 94th birthday please pm Me. Pop died 3 days after His 94th on oct 17th. Mom and I thought a nice tribute would be to let the balloon head off into the horizon. Was from Plymouth 3 miles from the sea. He loved the balloon. Its a long shot, but one never knows. Thanks all! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
