I know a lot of you are involved or have in the past been involved in Boy Scouts.

Sadly a young Scout from NY, camping with his troop at Yawgoog, passed away last night, apparently while sleeping. More details are not out.

As a few you know, my son is camping there at Yawgoog this week, as are many hundred other scouts from the northeast.

Please keep this young boy, his family and fellow scouts in your thoughts.

Biggest fear as a parent, greatest sadness.

T&P and for the boys at camp this week, it will probably have an effect on all of them in some way..

Very Very Sad, for him and his family, Thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family and the big scout family, may he be held high in gods hands.

Can't imagine ever loosing one of my kids, not sure it's something any parent could overcome.

What a sad ending to what for many was the biggest event of their short lives. I remember my first trip to Yawgoog. I was still 10 , just a few weeeks before 11th birthday was allowed. It was by far the biggest event ever for me at the time.

Terrible for the kid and his parents. What a lesson in life for the young scouts. For most of them, I would imagine that it has to be one of their first encounters with the death of one of their own.

Growing up my wifes uncle got hit by lightning as a scout and died.

very sad indeed....i know a few folks who've lost young children- saddest thing ever. the parents are never the same...t's & p's to his family and freinds.

Scouts or no scouts I can't imagine losing a kid.
