I am in garden every day and I see this and NO other damage to other plants . I placed a rat trap at the bottom of the stalk this AM rebaited the have-a-hart trap , :wall: justplugit 08-03-2011, 10:37 AM Process of elimination,squirrels and crows don't normally feed at night and you would see deer tracks if it were a deer. Prolly a racoon as they feed at night. Try marshmellows and jelly for bait, they like sweets. It's in granule form and you sprinkle around the perimeter of the garden. Says guaranteed to work for 30 days. So far so good after one week. Nothing eaten after application.
