So if you one of you guys caught the fish at your favorite big fish spot, how far off would you report the location that you caught it?

Seeing as how we could all use some exercise...:D

The furthest perch at Napatree point....:musc:.....using whole pogies, tight to the bottom, so make sure you bring enough bait & weight...

"What did you catch it on?"

" A Hook"

I would be submitting it for WR approval, so I'd play it straight as to the location. The crowds would eventually go away, and in the meantime, I'd fish somewhere else.

As far as what I caught it on, though.......I'd go with the companies with the deepest pockets. :D

How tight do you need to narrow it down for IGFA :hee: ?

Too many people know what I use and how for me to BS my way for sponsorship.

Even if there was a video of me catching the fish, no one would believe it.

Don't know, but it's the one time in my life when I wouldn't screw around.

And in any event---like others have said---there have been plenty of times in the past when I was honest and no one believed me anyway. :rotf2:

If it was a world record I would be honest about where I caught said fish..........

I'd say either the canal or CT.RI is small enough.

If it's a world record you HAVE to be 100 percent honest, they will and have subjected people to a polygraph, lists it in the first paragraph of the wr application.

You have to submit the line, leader, rig if it was bait, plug or lure, etc.

So you can say whatever you want but they verify it all.

Rod and reel also get inspected if there's any question.

I's be 100% honest but I would ask them - for sake of security - to limit the location to a wide area, say off Jamestown, not Hull cove.

I would be very vague. If I caught it 40 yards east of pole 40 Capeside I would tell them east of the bridge, Capeside. They would have to figure out the rest. The closer I am to them the closer they would get, a select few would get the pole number and even less would know the actual rock I was on.

Look closely at any of the pictures of said world record striper and you can easily tell that it is a hatchery fish. I would guess Lincoln Woods.

Give out 5 or 10 locations and tell them to take a pick!

As for requesting that the WR people withhold specifics to "try" and maintain the qaulity of that spot, GOOD LUCK with that one! :rotf2:

Who do you think would be the first to show up and fish that spot out? Those same WR people!

My personal records are just that MY PERSONAL RECORDS.
I have gotten some large fish, both fresh and salt, and unless you are willing to put in the time with me, you will have to figure out the how, when and where on your own!

You might as well tell them, because there are no secrets on the Canal. In the time it took you to get a fish like that to the rocks, you'd have an audience, because you'd have to walk it down about a half mile. Bill Baronowski had to walk his 62 pounder from Keene Street almost to the RR bridge on that Halloween night 10-11 years ago. Then, when you get her in close, she's gonna roll and splash around, and that'll sound line a bus driving off the Bourne Bridge. When word of the catch gets out, anyone who heard it will put 2 + 2 together.

Is that jetty in Jersey from the last one mobbed everynight?

I would tell the truth after I contacted all the vendors whose fishing gear I was using. Until then I would not say a thing. Afterwards everyone would know the truth.
