After years of fishing the surf of the south shore, I got my first yak this year and have fallen in love with kayak fishing.
Ive had some success this year trolling tube and worm and drifting chunks when on the N and S Rivers and was wondering how most of you more experienced yakkers like to fish. Do you guys ever anchor up and cast? Jig from the bottom?
Thanks guys!

Tube & worm is probably the most popular method used by kayak fishemen. I like eels at night and usually use soft plastic during the day.

yeah trolling is just ideal from the kayak, so that is the main method. However, some guys like to plug or throw soft plastics. I think a hobie is a must if you want to do a lot of plugging, its gets annoying having to keep positioning the kayak with a paddle...
Tube and worm is deadly!!!

A trolled plug (danny, redfin or mambo minnow) can work too. especially in daytime on bluefish. Find a plug that gives good action by watching the rod tip at a normal paddling pace. I troll plugs sometime when it is too weedy for the t&w or there are too many scup stealing bait and the worm supply gets low.

Do most guys have Hobies with the paddles or is that just a real good choice if you have the money? Thinking of getting into Yak fishing. My neighbor has 1 for sale.He bought it to fish out of,not a Hobie
