Cost another $7.50 each way to take my kayak on the Block Island ferry as long as I don't exceed 7' ... Think I'd have to take my yakima racks off and hulley rollers to make it .

I'd do it....

Take the rack off at the ferry parking lot. Tie the yak on the roof for the ferry ride only. Use Bones for padding. Put the rack back on when on island. Same for ride home. Or throw it in the back of Bob's truck....

I'll check my measures and the weather .. We usually have a big blow out there 1st week Nov . Got stuck out there once ,,. purple flag ..
