hey, does anyone know the torque spec for the exhaust manifold bolt's ? My manual has every spec but that one,they give spec's for certian size bolts but i'd like a clear spec. Any help would be great! it's a volvo penta 1984 AQ125A
When I took the manifold off the bolts moved easy so I know there's not much torque on them at all:smash:

You will have to determine what kind of bolt's they are?

Example a 3/8 24 grade 5 (fine thread) 28-31 fp.
3/8 16 grade 5 (coarse) 25-28
Torque values are the same for grade5+grade8 up to7/16.

Bolt identification grade 5 will have 3 lines on it's head, grade 8 will have 6.

when you take anything apart that requires torque to re-tighten
them you can always make a "witness mark" as to their origional position with a marker pen or if oily spot use a small chisel notch.
generally an average man has 18 pounds torque strength using just one arm's strength and then you bump it from there on up to
wicked tight. Although ->over torquing a nut actually makes them loosen up
and thats why we have torque pressure. Just a tip ok :p
