For me, still haven't seen any heightened increase in fishing activity, as of last night.

I fished the last two hours of the incoming. Saw some bait being chased, but no hits.

I said almost the same thing to my surf partner. Fishing won't light up w/o fish.

I'm sure it's ON somewhere though...

No increase in bass ( a few good ones fishing hard) but the blues have been on the hunt and have made a mess of my rigs the last 2 mornings. Did catch 39.5 inch - 24 pound blue a yest. morning , which is kinda rare as they usually just send back cigar stubs. Excellent fight, best I've had in awhile, but its a blue.

You almost broke the Mass record which is 27#. World record is 31# from Cape Hatteras

Wow - thats a big blue. I am pumped about the fight when they are low to mid teens. You could have lost an arm to that thing.

There were a few fish around after dark some nights but most of Aug was terrible with last week things were starting to shape up before the storm. I was told I suck and there's no fish here.. I just laugh at him because he's a fly guy and now he has an 11 footer and is still learning how to load the rod with a 3 0z plug. :rotf2: 3 days ago i got one at 0330 it took me a few cast but it wasn't no Dink. He kinda had a puzzled look on his face to see me unhooking a plastic lure stuck to a 20lbs of bass.
When these water temps cool off.... The bite's back on once the tides clean up after a few days.

Thought I had a very large bass on...no head shake and jerky runs typical of blues....3 bull dog runs then straight into shore. Reminded me of when I was in my teens fishing the beach during the summer months - early 90s...we used to catch 20lb blues all the time just screwing around as kids, but not one striper all year.

Actually glad this storm came in...need some rest. This Point Ive been fishing this week is over a half mile walk over boulder fields...not fun @ 2am.

Where I was fishing this past week, the water was just super warm. After this blow now, I think things will get better.

If you want to see bluefish that are over the 20 mark then you need to liveline tog in the early fall off a bridge with a double steel leader rig. Keep the tog on the surface flopping in the rip. The bigger the tog the better. The blues this big usually only school small for some reason about 6 together on average. But they are total beasts and will rip apart a 5 lb tog like butter. And when they are around that big there are usually a few fat bass under them. Pm me if you want to know more.

Was out last night for a bit. To big out front so headed back into the bay hoping to see the birds working, but saw nothing. Plugged up some blues here and there but thought it would have been better after the storm.

Dont feel a need to defend my fish or the scale it was weighed on, but will say the more time you spend on the water the law of average goes up in catching large fish, whether it by bass or blue. This is the largest blue I have caught in my life but have a similar fish...... 22#s 2 ounces weighed at Cherrys in Plymouth when I was 14, and we did catch 18-20lb blues with some regularity back in the late 80s and early 90s. I dont need convince anyone here what I caught, thats not why Im on here....just sharing a fish that ended up on my hook. An why lie about a blue? If I was going to I would probably say I caught a 50# or maybe even an 82#!
