View Full Version : Da Wife Brought Me Home a Treat...
The Dad Fisherman 08-28-2011, 06:38 PM She's definitely a keeper..
Looks interesting...propably won't get to it til next weekend though......I guess this stuff is hard to find, she told me the distributor in our area only had 25 cases total to distribute amongst its clients. Her store only got 12 bottles.

PRBuzz 08-28-2011, 06:46 PM WOW a maple syrup, dark that defies classification @APV 10.0! She definitely is a keeper!! I mean the wife, drink the beer!
flyvice11787 08-28-2011, 09:11 PM I've tried it. On the fence if I like it or not. It's definitely not your traditional porter. It's a collaboration between DFH and Sierra Nevada, I believe?

Yep....they did it before in 2009, I think.
If you read the link they are releasing a "lighter" version of it called Limb and Life.....5% abv and draught only.
The Dad Fisherman 08-30-2011, 06:07 AM She just brought me home a bottle of this too.....:jump1:

rphud 09-02-2011, 04:00 PM Mine brought home the Life and Limb as well! And some Three Philosophers and some Chimay Grande Reserve. Let the holiday weekend begin!!!
spence 09-02-2011, 04:24 PM Is the Life and Limb any good? At 20 bucks a bottle it had sure better be.

rphud 09-03-2011, 07:54 AM Chimay last night, maybe LandL tonight. I will let you know. I would be surprised if my wife dropped $20 on it, but you never really know until you know.
spence 09-03-2011, 09:45 AM I believe the 10.5% ABV stuff in the corked bottle is 20 bucks...there could be a cheaper format that's smaller.

rphud 09-03-2011, 12:56 PM 10.2 with the champagne cork and wire, She is thinking around 12ish. Have not yet seen the receipt yet though.
10.2% $9.99 at my local booze joint. They definately put out more for the second edition than they did the first. Tried it last night and liked the flavor but only drank about a third of my glass. I think there was "so much going on" with it that it was upsetting my tummy! Hubby said the same...anyone else notice this or are we crazy?
The Dad Fisherman 09-05-2011, 12:27 AM $11.99 @ my wife's liqour store.
Pretty sure she got it for much less too...
Haven't even gotten around to having it yet....busy weekend
rphud 09-10-2011, 11:47 AM Popped the cork last night. I thought it was very good. A bit on the heavy side, so probably not for everybody. I will buy more for sure.
