I have a couple favorite fall spots I like to stand on. They are pretty slick. more so this year. Reading a thread somewhere on cleaning lobster traps got me thinking..... Anyone used a little diluted bleach to help with more stable footing on your favorite rock?

The old salts have been bleaching the rocks on the Rhodie breachways for years.

A few kicks with the korkers does just fine. Not sure if I want to wade/swim out with a bottle of bleach attached to my belt.

Spence polishes his perches to protect the wingtips, might want to consult him.

in all seriousness, THumper is correct.. Guys bleach the end of a couple of the breachways.. Usually its the old pharts who are too cheap to buy spikes.. :)

That works huh? If it's slick, it's because its below the high water mark and the slime would just build up after the next tide, wouldn't it?

Our Montauk transplant had a good idea.... Lay a sacrificial towel on the spot you want to stand and soak it with the cut bleach. The towel will hold it in place longer to burn the crap away.

North Shore crew; Castle was weedy and the waves were nasty already from 4-5. And high isn't until 8.... Took one in the ear that convinced me to come off those rocks. Looked perfect too... Not a hit... Take a good look before you hit that area tonight.....
