Last time the girl and I went it was about 50 bucks, two strong drinks, calamari and two orders of pad Thai. Can't say enough good things about this place!! For a quick bite try crazy dough pizza on Thames, like 40 kinds of speciality pizza by the slice. That's my new newport favorite Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device bostonharbor 09-07-2011, 10:03 PM Brick Alley for seared Tuna at Lunch,Fastnett for Beer and characters at night. Saltheart 09-07-2011, 11:47 PM Benjamins right across from Bannister's Wharf is reasonably priced for Newport restaurants. It was BYOB at one time but may have a bar now. Drinks outside, Black Pearl is excellent for people watching Mooring has excellent portuguese mussels as app and Seafood pie entre. These two will run you $45 plus t+t Castle Hill is a beautifull place for drinks at sunset . Expensive to eat there though...expensive! If Salas's is still there, they have great food and low prices by Newport standars.Half pound spaghetti with red clam sauce is one of my favorites. Brick Ally Pub is a great all around place but crowded on Fri and Sat night. Try making a reservation. Hotels are way high in Newport and not worth it IMO.Look for somerhing off rt 114 in Middletown. Castle Hill has rooms for About $350 to$400 if you have money to blow. fishbones 09-08-2011, 09:47 AM Brick Alley for seared Tuna at Lunch,Fastnett for Beer and characters at night. My go to place in Newport for Bloody Mary's. I spent quite a few Sunday mornings there with the wife before we had a kid. rwilhelm 09-08-2011, 11:25 AM Newport Harbor Hotel Red Parrot for dinner PaulS 09-08-2011, 12:30 PM I always like scales and shells. Need $, no credit cards. zacs 09-08-2011, 12:55 PM Duck nachos&Sticky ribs @ Perro Salado. Washed down with a dark and stormy.. That's my new newport favorite Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device me too. zacs 09-08-2011, 01:03 PM will add that Tallulah is also truly awesome. Those mf'n sticky ribs at PS, though, haunt my dreams.... JackK 09-08-2011, 01:55 PM Salvation has good food for good prices Pour Judgement is the best burger & beer place in town, IMO... Try the steamed littlenecks in prosciutto sauce... WOW (and make sure to get extra bread) Tucker's Bistro has some really good food Perro Salado has amazing food and good music (Honkytonk Knights every Thursday, be sure to request the Calamari Causeway song) Scales & Shells for seafood You can also see where some of the seafood is coming from & support local fishermen by checking out Trace and Trust (http://traceandtrust.com). Agreed on Saltheart's hotel recommendations. Middletown isn't far away at all. Pete at SWE can probably fill you in on what's going on that weekend if you stop by the shop. Try to check out the Ravers if you can. PaulS 09-08-2011, 02:31 PM Good point about SWE. What is the point of going to Newport if you don't stop in and buy something. Best to leave the wife at the hotel. basswipe 09-08-2011, 04:13 PM JackK hit for the burger.Pour Judgement. Coddington Brewery is top notch!!!My favorite actually. Look for a place to stay in Middletown. The Ramada on East Main Rd. is decent enough. basswipe 09-08-2011, 04:16 PM Castle Hill has rooms for About $350 to$400 if you have money to blow. We just got done renovating the harbor houses and they're the cheapest rooms on the property.$350-$400 won't get you a night there unless there's snow on the ground! afterhours 09-08-2011, 07:14 PM Sardellas is one of my fav's. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
