Dave Bernstein, studied with him for 3 yrs. spent countless hrs bs'ing music with him. guy was a character. Knew more about jazz, blues country than anyone I ever met. really shaped my music taste and playing.
He was about 8 yrs older than me, looked to see where he was playing in San Francisco when I was planning a visit a few yrs back and found out he died of cancer. I think he was 43 or so, what a shame. Enjoy some great playing
