View Full Version : When are these seas gonna lay down?
nightfighter 09-20-2011, 07:36 PM Huge surge up this way, and from what I heard, all the way down to Montauk. What caused these conditions and what are best sites to check out buoy info? Can't wait for these seas to lay down....and the water to clear up a bit.
Took a wave tonight that put water six feet over my head at Castle reef. And I was standing just six feet from the seawall....
striperman36 09-20-2011, 08:26 PM Nice storm in the North Atlantic. it's moving NE, not sure if you'll be done by the weekend.

JackK 09-20-2011, 08:55 PM supposed to be decent tomorrow, ~2 ft with 5 kt W, going to try for giants
Rockfish9 09-21-2011, 06:13 AM Killing me too Ross... I know where there's a ton of fish.. but I cant get at 'em...
Clogston29 09-21-2011, 07:19 AM can take a long time for the water to clear up there too, the crap just collects in there and sits. i've headed there a few times this year and been weeded out most of the time. these w and s winds over the next few days will help, maybe they'll be enough.
AL617 09-21-2011, 08:45 AM Laid down quite a bit over night, almost like glass up here now.

Rockport24 09-21-2011, 09:19 AM yeah looks like the wind is going to be coming out of the south for the next few days and hopefully that helps, the marine forecase is saying 2-3 foot seas, but we know how that goes. Time on this season is running out!

RickBomba 09-21-2011, 01:06 PM Very easy fishing this am up near you, Ross. Used my last day off on Dad leave to break a very nasty two-year skunk! Nice to have fish for dinner!
nightfighter 09-21-2011, 01:15 PM Looks much better out there right now. Finish up grouting some tile work on a kitchen job, and then hunt some macks for an evening fishing on the water.
