I plan for sometime just before/around Thanksgiving! Rockport24 09-22-2011, 03:05 PM I like to get out in mid november for some fresh water, then call it from there. The Dad Fisherman 09-22-2011, 03:23 PM Probably Thanksgiving Week.....need to get out a few more times though soon frogman_ch 09-22-2011, 04:18 PM Not until the water gets crunchy:grins: FishermanTim 10-14-2011, 02:35 PM Not until the water gets crunchy:grins: Yeah, I guess when the 'yak start riding ON TOP of the water, it may be time to prep for ice fishing season? FishermanTim 11-07-2011, 12:42 PM Put the yak away this weekend. It was a tough decision as I was up near Winnipesaukee with trout rising on a cold Nov morning, and I couldn't cast as far as they were from where I was standing. Of course I also didn't have my fly gear, so tossing spoons and worms was the best I could do. I toyed with the idea of having "one last fling", but when you're standing of a frost coated dock in 24 dgree air, it tends to make you re-think you choice of getting wet!!! On the plus side, I am storing my yaks at my brothers house, which is where I also store my portable ice shanties, so in went one fishing item, out came another!! Now all I need is a deep freeze for an early winter "first ice" trip!!!!! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
