Got out in my 'yak in the harbor first time ever. Did O.K.; three stripers (one keeper), couple of nice blues. Worked east of Thompson, west of Long island, tube and worm, casting Deadly #^&#^&#^&#^& into schools(two of them, which I had to myself!).

Folks might be interested that I fish in a tandem 'yak on my own. It actually works great in (slightly) bigger water (harbor, Buzzards Bay). You can put a big cooler and gear in the front seat, have plenty of leg room in the back. When the big wakes come, since sitting in back brings the front up, you can just aim the front and roll over them with no chance of capsizing. And, when you get big fish on (the blue was a 10 lber), after your Nantucket sleighride, you can net 'em and bring 'em in just like a regular boat. My Pelican is light and easy paddling too; can put it on the roof on my own, paddle w/tube for 4 hours without getting tired. I definitely think in these waters it works better than a solo 'yak.
