Striper put up. No weight was used but I did make some with wgt and it worked well with and without wgt. Rockfish9 10-05-2011, 06:20 AM I dont weight mine and make them from western red ( I've experimented with pine, birch and mapel as well), I feel the weight of the epoxy compensates for the lighter wood.. the ones I weighted just didnt seem to have the original action( 8" plug, the smaller 6" does well with a little lead in the gut)..I do through wire them and fit them with 4/0 VMC's in the front, rear with a 3/0 and a 6/0 siwash on the tail.. they work well when towed against the rip in that swirling washing machine know as the Merrimack river... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2024, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
