Wanted to take the time to give a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Big Dave and Slip for a fabulous day. Today's casting clinic was well beyond what I expected. The time Dave took to explain and demonstrate to us the basic concepts and techniques of better casting was so very appreciated. I know that I came away with a much better understanding of how a cast should be done. Now I just have to put in the time and practice needed to get where I would like to be. Thank you both again for a great day of learning...

And man can Big Dave cast!!!....

He sure can! Big Dave can talk some casting talk and backs it up with action, those 150 gr. weights sure were flying.
Glad you learned something.
I know some people couldn't make it today but I wonder what happened to all the other bodies:confused: Only 3-1/2 showed up but then BM graced us with his presence at the canal to try and pull the plug out of the canal with his 30 lb fireline which breaks at much, much more:smash:

Nice to meet Hammer. And good to see you again Leo and Bob

Ya John, quite a few let me or Dave know ahead of time because stuff came up but I don't think I ever was asked directions from 1 or 2 others that were on the list. It is a busy time of year.

How was the wedding?

it would truly be great if you guys could do one on a sunday. working saturdays kind of keeps me out of the ball game.

it sure was nice to see big dave cast just short of the other side of the ditch. dave really took the time to break it all down, from the reels (everybody had abu's and dave broke em all down for us) right on through to hand position, arm position angle of cast and the finished cast with left hand in proper position. this was my first ever conv. casting and i had no problems or backlashes, dave made it clear on what to do. nice to see slip and tagger and fishaddict and bm. thanks again big dave i will practice.

It was a really nice seminar. Enjoyed talking with you guys very much. As the season goes on I am sure another seminar can be worked in somplace. But as always if anyone wants to learn a bit I am always around the Canal on the weekends and if time allows I will do my best to make some time available. Regards Big Dave

You guys that couldn't make it missed a good one. This too was my first attempt at conventional casting and Big Dave made it step by step so even I could follow. With the small group there was plenty of one on one instruction which really helped drive some of the details home. It was good to meet everyone and Slipnot was very generous to host this at his place. You guys sure made a newcomer to the board feel welcome. After seeing some of Slipnots plugs up close, I allready see next winters addiction coming on.

Damn! I would've been there if I knew there were gonna be no-shows. Hell, I was down at M&Ds looking into the abu 7001 lefty model.

Next time for sure.
