Hello,

I need to replace my trailer tires before I pull for the season. Boat is a 2002 21 Ft W/A Trophy, on a single axle galvanized ( escort ?) trailer. The old tires are the original Titan ST225/75R15, rated E, for 2830 lbs per tire. I estimate the weight of boat and trailer to be between 4500 and 5000 lbs depending on fuel, etc. Rough quotes on the Titan's are around 200 dollars each, maybe more, can't find out much on the weekend. I only use the trailer twice a year, boat lives on a mooring. Ramp is a flat 1.5 miles from my house. Would you recommend I stick with the Titans or are there similar quality tires out there, that are less expensive ? Any other advice ? Your feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks, MBFish

1.5 miles from your house? I'd put a couple of old USED tires on the trailer. You are driving 6 miles a years!!

1.5 miles ..just drag the boat ><><>

Really with that distamce it doesn,t matter what you put on .just keep the size of both tires the same ><><

have you tried some tubes,or just cheap tires, hauling that much would not justify 400.oo plus mount, balance etc.i did the same with mine on long pond pulled from the beach 100 ' down the road to the backyard twice a year maybe more if it really needed to come out ,like around the 4 th of july neighbors got roudy with roman candles and other flamable things:fury:

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the advice, I agree 400 dollars to much for my use, on to find some cheap used ones. Other than the usual places, e-bay, craig's list, any other places I should look ??

car or truck tires, that's not really a unusual size

Give Monahans Marine in Weymouth a call. My budding got some that were roughly that size (don't remember exactly) with galv wheels and all for @ $125 each. He has just tires as well. Worth a call anyways.

Clammer doesn't even use trailers, just look at the bottom of his aluminum for the skid marks:).

Hey you are right. I remember one night a few years ago when the tin boat ended up in the middle of Warwick neck Ave. 'Member Mike?
